Why We Need You
Canada’s Department of National Defense (DND) funds the basic cadet training program, which includes classroom instruction, aviation training, survival training exercise, gliding and uniforms. In addition, cadets have the opportunity to attend a variety of summer camps at no additional cost.
However, many optional activities, specialized filed trips, facility rentals, administrative expenses, insurance, and team costs are not covered by the military. To bridge this gap, the Squadron Sponsoring Committee relies entirely on community fundraising and the generosity of our supporters to maintain the high quality of our extras.

888 Canteen
Snacks & Drinks: only $1 – $2
We know that training nights can be long, and some cadets may run out of energy toward the end of the evening. The canteen provides convenient, affordable snacks and drinks to help keep our cadets going through their busy training sessions.
We also understand that parade nights can make it challenging for some families to fit in a proper dinner beforehand. Based on feedback and family needs, the SSC is exploring the possibility of offering hot food options in the future.
